Fiber to the Home Projects
HunTel Engineering has been designing FTTH systems since 1998, when we designed and observed construction of the FTTH green field project for Blair Telephone Company of Blair, NE. Since then we have designed and observed construction of over fifty FTTH projects, including the first Independent Local Exchange Carrier’s (ILEC’s) in Nebraska and Iowa to deploy this technology.
Our current FTTH projects include: Panora, Wellman, Dumont, Clarence, Fenton, Prairieburg and Shellrock in the state of Iowa; Osborne, Downs, Wamego and Manchester in the state of Kansas; Goultry, Jet, and Manchester in the state of Oklahoma. There are a wide variety of FTTH electronics used on these projects including, but not limited to, Calix, Occam, Pannaway/Enablance, and Hitachi. There are also a wide variety of switches being used in conjuction with these projects including Nortel, Siemans, Coppercom, and MetaSwitch.
